Founded in 1983, I.B. Tauris publishers began its existence dedicated specifically to producing titles related to the Middle East and Islamic Studies. The company has since expanded to publish books on subjects ranging from geography and the social sciences to philosophy and religion, but it continues to publish numerous titles every year relating to the Middle East.

Dominated by Middle East related titles overall, I.B. Tauris’s most recent catalogue contains a number of books related specifically to Iran, ranging from historical volumes like Rudi Matthee’s “Persia in Crisis: Safavid Decline and the Fall of Isfahan” to texts dealing with more contemporary issues. New I.B. Tauris titles relating to other subjects in the Middle East include Steven Richmond’s “The Voice of England in the East,” Amin Saikal’s “Modern Afghanistan,” and James Worrall’s “State Building and Counter Insurgency in Oman.”
